Not happy enough just celebrating the 5th anniversary for the Mass effect series, executive producer Casey Hudson has confirmed, through his Twitter account, that the next entry of the Mass Effect franchise is officially under development.
Mr. Hudson states that the project is in the early stages of designing and asks players what they would like to see in the new game. It?s almost certain, as already reported a couple of weeks ago, that commander Shepard won?t be in the new entry of the series: with the story of Shepard finally over, the new game will have to be a new starting point for Mass Effect as a whole.
According to some rumors, the team is aiming for a completely different context than previous games to avoid shelving the beloved command Shepard for another character with similiar features but it?s still too soon to have confirmed details at this stage: surely the possibilities are many since the Mass Effect galaxy has always been presented as really vast and diversified.
The Mass Effect series has grown to be one of the most acclaimed new franchises of this generation thanks to its storyline, characters and depth of the setting.
The latest release, Mass Effect 3, is coming on Wii U as well, expanding on the multiplatform releases of the franchise.
