Save and Organize Your Favorite Information Sources With Snip.it

If you would like to keep articles and information pertaining to meaningful topics, consider using Snip.it. This website fosters a thoughtful saving of content you find interesting.

?Snip.it is a platform that allows you to collect and share all the great articles you?re reading around your interests,? Jennifer Pollock, Snip.it director of content, told RESCUECOM. ?As you?re browsing the web, you can snip any article or video, add your thoughts, and organize it into a collection that you can share with the world. You?ll start to build a `virtual library? of all the great content you?re reading.?

Snip.it?s founder and CEO Ramy Adeeb is originally from Egypt. In 2011, during the Arab Spring, he was working at Khosla Ventures, a venture capital company. Friends asked what they should know about the events unfolding in Egypt. He shared some articles on Facebook and some thoughts on Twitter. But his Facebook friends wanted only a little information about the Arab Spring and his Twitter followers were more interested in his knowledge of investing.

Pollock continued, ?The real-time aspects of Twitter are extremely well-suited for events, but not as much for diving deeper into issues and really understanding their complexities. Pinterest worked great for eye candy. The question he asked himself was: Could he do the same for brain candy??

The result is Snip.it.

?Snip.it came out of beta earlier this summer,? Pollock added. ?We already have tens of thousands of people collecting content around hundreds of thousands of topics. Our community members are extremely passionate about sharing around their interests, and are collecting around anything from Entrepreneurship to Yoga to Science. Snip.it is becoming the go-to place on the web to share and find the best, most relevant content for your interests.?

Put the Snip.it button in your Favorites bar and you are ready to snip articles on your computer. You can also snip from your mobile device or via email.

Create, find and edit your collections, organized within your profile. See how many people like your items, ?resnip? items you like in other collections into your own, make comments or subscribe to other people?s collections following your interests. One of your collections could even become ?featured.?
