Job Description:

We partner with clients in both a secondment and consulting capacity and based on unprecedented demands for our services, we are looking to enhance our Credit Risk capability in the Northern Region

The role:

  • Provide expert input into all aspects of model development, review, validation and stress testing
  • Review and provide opinions on the quantitative and qualitative elements of the model development/approval/validation/stress testing of all credit risk models
  • Keep up to date with academic, technical and industry developments in the field of credit risk
  • Estimate the effect of assumptions and/or constraints by performing impact and sensitivity analysis on models as required;
  • Develop robust and professional working relationships with clients and key stakeholders

Key requirements:

  • Numerical degree e.g. Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Operational Research
  • Significant relevant consulting, risk management or business expertise within a Retail/Commercial or Corporate bank.
  • Significant credit risk management experience
  • Good knowledge of the financial services industry, related risk management regulation and practices
  • Evaluation, development and implementation of credit risk models, including scorecards, IRB, and stress testing and the policies and procedures related to model governance
  • Understanding of the overall credit risk management lifecycle and associated credit risk and the policies, procedures and strategies employed to manage this risk
  • Understanding of risk assessment and control methodologies, including requirements relating to those used for the derivation of regulatory or economic capital
  • Detailed understanding of regulatory and/or market good practice in the area of credit risk modelling
  • Proven track record of delivery on credit risk model projects including the ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge (Subject Matter Expertise) of Financial Services Regulations and in particular Basel II/Basel II/CRD IV
  • Highly motivated, with a proven ability to work on own initiative within a challenging/dynamic work environment
  • Strong team player with good organisation, planning and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral/written communication & influencing skills
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft applications - Word, Excel VBA, PowerPoint, SAS
