A local sports marketing company has sold its third franchise in less than 60 days.
Miamisburg-based Sports Image signed Darren Kempf to a territory that covers the St. Petersburg, Fla. area. That also marks its 25th franchisee.
Sports Image focuses mainly on high school and youth sports programs, brokering sponsorship deals with local, regional and national companies. In exchange for cash or equipment, companies can get everything from an advertisement on a scoreboard to being included as part of game day promotions and public address announcements.
It now has franchisees in more than a dozen states.
Sports Image also provides event management services and runs the Good Samaritan Flyin? to the Hoop Invitational, which has become a showcase for its work. Flyin? to the Hoop ? a Dayton-area high school basketball event held over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend ? attracts some of the top teams and college prospects from around the U.S. and pumps about $1.6 million annually into the local economy.
